Our Journey into the Cosmetic World

Entering the cosmetic world was an exciting yet intricate journey for us at Dear Skin. From the very beginning, our mission was to create skincare that not only nourishes the skin but also speaks to the unique needs of our customers. The process was both challenging and rewarding, pushing us to dig deep into research and development to figure out what we could offer that would truly make a difference.

One of the longest yet most vital stages of launching Dear Skin was the Research and Development phase. This was where the magic began, deciding which ingredients would form the backbone of our formulas. The cosmetic industry offers endless options, from plant-based oils to cutting-edge synthetic ingredients. However, we knew our focus had to be on natural ingredients as this is what we are more familiar with.

Ingredients That Make a Difference

A defining decision for Dear Skin was to make all our products 100% fragrance-free. While fragrances can add a luxurious touch, they often trigger redness, irritation, and breakouts, especially for dry or sensitive skin types. Instead, we focused on hydration, nourishment, and barrier protection, letting high-performance ingredients do the work instead.

Our ingredient search took us through hundreds of possibilities, carefully selecting those that offer the best skin benefits. We knew that plant-based oils like Sweet Almond Oil, Baobab Oil, and Grapeseed Oil had to be part of our products. These oils are known to moisturize, restore, and reduce signs of aging, making them the perfect allies for healthy skin.

What makes Dear Skin truly special is our inspiration from Korean skincare. Ginseng Root, with its rich antioxidant properties, enhances skin hydration, improves the skin barrier, and helps brighten uneven skin tone. Meanwhile, Snail Mucin hydrates, promotes collagen production, and aids in skin healing and regeneration. These ingredients have been trusted for centuries in East Asian beauty and are now backed by modern dermatology.

Commitment to Ethical & Sustainable Beauty

Sourcing Snail Mucin locally was one of our proudest achievements. It wasn’t easy to find, but we were determined to ensure every ingredient in our products was ethically sourced and produced without harming animals. Our supplier confirmed that the Snail Mucin is collected through a gentle, cruelty-free process from Helix Aspersa snails, then dried through lyophilization (freeze-drying) into a fine powder. This preserves its beneficial properties and aligns with our commitment to sustainable beauty.
